On February 24th 2018, while on vacation in Brazil, a passing truck pushed her car off the road, flipping it into a ravine. Two passengers escaped with bruises, but Neusa was not so fortunate. She could not feel her legs. With a C6C7 spinal cord injury, Neusa continues to be challenged as she is unable to live the life she once knew.

“Rooted in her deep faith in God, Neusa’s positive attitude and beautiful smile radiates through this tragedy. She states, “God must have a purpose for me.” Medical staff, caretakers, family and friends are continually amazed as they witness a warmth and joyous peace that emanates from her heart.”
I was so blessed to be able to come back to CT and to continue my treatment here with my family, friends and church. God has wonderful ways of making things happen, this was one of them
The world can create trouble in peace, but God can create peace in trouble.
One of the major lessons I’ve learned after my accident is to never take anything for granted and to not stress and complain about irrelevant things. It is difficult for me to hear people complain about how bad their vacation was, or not wanting to work, or not wanting to do house chores. I would love to be able to do that again. I miss working, watering my flowers, the most simple things I did day to day. I would love to go back to my routine. I also used to stress the little things, but now I know how fragile life is. If you are reading this message, take a moment to think about the things you are thankful for
